Define and lead Deutsche Telekom’s long‑term vision for next‑generation communication and compute systems, turning emerging technologies into strategic direction and real‑world solutions.

• Define and drive a forward‑looking research agenda
• Explore novel architectures and emerging technology paradigms
• Develop prototypes, experiments, and technology demonstrators
• Lead technology foresight and strategic assessments
• Collaborate internationally with academia, startups, and industry leaders
• Translate research into future network and infrastructure strategies
• Contribute to intellectual property generation, publications, and thought leadership

• Adaptive and intelligent radio systems
• Spectrum evolution and advanced wireless systems
• Optical transport and photonic interconnects
• AI/HPC infrastructure
• Heterogeneous and distributed compute architectures

• Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar – PhD or significant experience
• Expertise in multiple areas (wireless, photonics, AI/HPC, distributed systems, future Internet architecture)
• Strong systems‑thinking and architectural mindset
• Experience in applied research, prototyping, or advanced tech development
• Ability to bridge research, engineering, and business
• Strong network in academia/industry
• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
• Curiosity, vision, and passion for deep tech
