We are looking for a Platform Engineer (Development Tooling & CI/CD Services) for a German client in the energy sector.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and operation of an internal cloud-native platform that enables software teams to build, run, and deliver applications more efficiently through standardized Dev Ops and CI/CD capabilities.
What you will do- Build and operate internal platform products and shared engineering services (Git Lab, Test Rail, Harbor, Tofu Controller, Config Manager)
- Ensure availability, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle management of platform services
- Support environment bootstrapping and ensure consistent baseline configurations
- Standardize and automate provisioning, upgrades, backups, monitoring, and recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot incidents and coordinate sustainable fixes across teams
- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and service standards
- Develop and improve operator-facing platform products (especially Config Manager)
- Enable teams to onboard and consume shared services via automated and standardized workflows
- Support and improve Git Ops-based configuration and delivery patterns
- Translate platform requirements into reusable, productized service capabilities
- Integrate security and software supply chain controls into CI/CD (OSS scanning, security scanning, artifact signing, policy enforcement)
- Improve automation across build, test, release, and deployment processes
- Contribute to engineering standards, governance, and automation improvements
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and internal users to improve platform usability and adoption
- Proven experience building, operating, and improving internal platform products or shared engineering services
- Strong hands-on experience with Git Lab administration and operations in large environments
- Experience with CI/CD platform engineering (pipelines, runners, shared build and deployment services)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Open Tofu / Terraform)
- Experience operating or integrating tooling such as artifact registries, test management tools, and deployment controllers
- Experience with environment bootstrapping, standard platform setup, onboarding, and service provisioning
- Experience designing and maintaining reliable shared services, including monitoring, backups, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Experience integrating security scanning, OSS/software composition analysis, artifact signing, or software supply chain controls into CI/CD workflows
- Strong scripting and automation skills for platform operations and service integration
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders and translate needs into reusable platform capabilities
- Strong documentation and communication skills in an engineering platform context
- Fluent German (C1)
- Experience with Harbor or similar container/artifact registry platforms
- Experience with Test Rail or similar test management tools
- Experience with Kubernetes-based platform operations
- Experience with policy-as-code and governance in engineering platforms
- Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
