Job Description
Responsible for daily monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of SAP landscapes across multiple platforms including ECC, S/4
HANA, BW, CRM, SCM, and others. This role involves system administration, performance troubleshooting, backup, migration, and technical support, with on‑call duties as necessary.
- Daily System Monitoring and Maintenance
- Perform daily checks on SAP systems to monitor performance and ensure optimal operation.
- Oversee and manage SAP landscapes, including ECC, S/4
HANA, BW, CRM, SCM, and other SAP systems.
- System Administration and Maintenance
- Execute routine tasks such as system copies, patch applications, kernel updates, and database maintenance.
- Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems, including new installations and updates for SAP applications, databases, and operating systems.
- Apply release upgrades and support packages while adhering to SAP guidelines and best practices.
- Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting activities, and resolve issues to ensure efficient SAP system functioning.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SAP systems for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with functional teams to address system performance issues and optimize configurations.
- System Backup and Recovery
- Implement backup and recovery processes for SAP systems to ensure data integrity and system availability.
- System Migration and Conversion
- Plan and execute system migrations, both on‑premises and to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform.
- Independently plan and execute S/4
HANA system conversions.
- System Optimization
- Regularly perform system tuning and capacity planning to maintain high availability and system performance.
- Technical Support
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for SAP Basis‑related issues.
- Coordinate with SAP support and internal teams to resolve problems promptly.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes in compliance with ITIL standards.
- On‑Call Support
- Participate in on‑call shifts to provide after‑hours support as needed.
- Required Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
- Education:
- Certifications (Preferred)
- Certifications in SAP HANA, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or other cloud‑related certifications.
- Experience
- 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in SAP Basis administration.
- Type of Experience
- 2–4 years of proven experience with SAP systems such as ECC or S/4
HANA, including installation, upgrades, and system maintenance. - 2–4 years of hands‑on experience working with SAP HANA database, including setup, backup, and optimization.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting system migrations to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform).
- At least 2 years of exposure to ITIL processes such as incident management, problem‑solving, and change management is highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and optimizing system efficiency.
- 2–4 years of proven experience with SAP systems such as ECC or S/4
- Technical Skills
- Advanced level in SAP Basis administration tasks, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Medium level knowledge of SAP HANA databases, including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery processes.
- Advanced level in routine administrative tasks such as kernel updates, system copies, and patch applications.
- Advanced level in system performance monitoring tools and techniques for identifying bottlenecks.
- Beginner level in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform) and system migration processes.
- Beginner level in ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
- Beginner level in managing system conversions to S/4
HANA autonomously. - Beginner level experience with cloud environments and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Beginner level knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages for system administration tasks.
- Certifications in SAP Basis or related areas are preferred.
- Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations for after‑hours support.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training or business needs.
