Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
As a System Engineer Packet Core
, you will develop advanced technical solutions for the expansion and operation of infrastructure and services, taking them to the next quality level. For the cloud‑native production environment of Packet Core, including 5G‑SA, you will prepare procedures for the complete service lifecycle and act as a key contact for planning, system integration and troubleshooting.
Your tasks will include:
- Supporting highly complex projects by overseeing development, quality assurance, planning, implementation and maintenance of product releases
- Developing and defining strategies for automated planning, integration and delivery, including cross‑project infrastructure and tool suites
- Focusing on harmonized automation frameworks and cloud‑native Packet Core functions to ensure efficient and reliable automated deployment processes
- Elaborating new deployment strategies and disaster‑recovery concepts aligned with overall goals and requirements
- Cooperating closely with operations teams to deploy planned solutions, improve process efficiency and engage in innovative topics and concepts, ensuring a high level of digitization in support processes
- University degree with focus on computer science or comparable qualification, with several years of professional experience in a Telco environment (system engineering and/or operations)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Packet Data Core systems
- Excellent understanding of ePC and 5GC architecture, interfaces and call flows, including interaction with surrounding systems
- Long‑standing experience in 2nd or 3rd‑level support in Mobile Packet Core systems
- Very good experience in both classical and agile cooperation models
- Very good command of English (written and spoken)
If on top of above you are familiar with any of below that an extra advantage:
- expertise in monitoring systems and trace analysis
- knowledge of automation and machine learning
- experience with cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Open Stack
- knowledge of Helm, Istio, Prometheus and Flux
- knowledge of microservice architecture and maintenance of cloud‑based applications
- excellent English skills & basic German language skills (mainly spoken)
