ProjectDescription
We're building a Fin Ops program with our client, and need a capable Dev Ops engineer to own the tooling that makes it real. Your role will be to make it real: building durable, automated pipelines and reporting for our cloud spend, with a path toward AI-enabled cost analysis.
Technologies- SQL (ETL/ELT)
- AWS
- S3
- IAM
- BI/reporting (Quick Sight or comparable)
- Build and own automated data pipelines that ingest AWS cost and usage data into a quarrable analytics layer;
- Athena-enable our cost data - land it in S3, catalog with Glue, keep it performant and reliable at scale;
- Model the data with consistent dimensions (project, product, service, hosting area, cost center) so it stays reusable as the program grows to cover colocation and fixed assets;
- Automate tagging governance by auditing tag coherence and policy compliance, surfacing drift, producing remediation-ready reporting;
- Build reporting for multiple audiences and scopes from team-level detail to executive rollups;
- Deliver templated, parameterized self-service reports so Finance can pull what they need without touching Cost Explorer or the AWS console;
- Support the AWS Cloud Financial Management assessment and operationalize its outputs;
- Help AI-enable our cost data so we can explore spend and optimization directly in Claude;
- 4-7 years of experience in Dev Ops, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles;
- Strong SQL skills with hands‑on experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines;
- Practical AWS expertise, including Cost & Usage Reports, Athena, Glue, S3, IAM, and familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer;
- Experience with IaC using Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation;
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and data processing;
- Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design scalable, reusable data models rather than report‑specific solutions;
- Experience with BI and reporting tools, such as Amazon Quick Sight or similar platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker);
- Automation‑first mindset, with a focus on building reliable, repeatable processes instead of manual workflows;
- Understanding of finance fundamentals, including CAPEX vs. OPEX, budgeting cycles, and cost allocation methodologies;
- Comfortable leveraging AI/LLM tools to improve productivity and workflows; experience with Claude is a strong advantage;
- AWS certifications;
- CUDOS / Cloud Intelligence Dashboards;
- Colocation or fixed‑asset cost/asset exposure;
- Ad‑tech or high‑volume infrastructure background;
