Systems Engineer, Cybersecurity
We are looking for an engineer for our client in the manufacturing sector (life sciences) who will help build a platform based on the Unified Namespace (UNS) concept and an MQTT broker as a single source of truth for the entire organization.
This is a role at the intersection of OT, IT, and IoT—real industry, real production data, and modern architecture.
Rate: up to 1,400 PLN/MD net + VAT
Team: international
What you’ll be doing:
Building and developing a production data distribution platform (MQTT + Unified Namespace)
Implementing the HiveMQ broker as a central data source—publishing/subscription for systems and users
Deployment and maintenance of applications on Kubernetes (on-premise)
Integration of the OT world (PLC, SCADA, OPC UA) with the IT layer
Secure end-to-end communication: TLS / mTLS, certificates
Working within GxP compliance (support from a dedicated Validator and architect—you won’t be performing validation on your own)
Qualifications:
Professional experience as a Dev Ops engineer or integration engineer on projects using Kubernetes and MQTT brokers; experience in OT environments is a plus.
Practical knowledge of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform), Helm, CRD/Operator Patterns, and Git Ops (ArgoCD or Flux).
Ability to design, deploy, and optimize MQTT brokers and configure Kubernetes clusters for high availability and performance.
Knowledge of industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Ether Net/IP) and edge-to-cloud integration.
Experience in regulated environments (GxP) and in computer system validation processes (CSV, IQ/OQ) and ALCOA+ principles.
Knowledge of security technologies: mTLS, cert-manager, RBAC, ACL, and network segmentation principles compliant with the Purdue/ISA-95 model.
Ability to create and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux) and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
A technical college degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of information systems, automation, or a related field.
Communication skills enabling collaboration with IT and OT teams as well as business stakeholders
What we’re looking for (must-haves):
MQTT — preferably HiveMQ (other brokers are also welcome)
TLS / mTLS + certificate management
Understanding of the OT / IoT landscape and OT/IT communication
Experience in a regulated environment (pharma / biotech / life sciences / GxP)
Nice to have
Industrial protocols: OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Ether Net/IP, Siemens S7, Rockwell
