Location: Town of Poland

The Senior Operational Buyer is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective availability of materials and components required to meet production schedules, customer commitments and agreed inventory targets. The role manages day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier confirmations, material shortages, delivery risks and MRP data accuracy. Working closely with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Finance and suppliers, the role supports production continuity, inventory optimisation and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
As a senior member of the team, the role is expected to take ownership of escalations, contribute to process improvements, support best practice within operational purchasing activities and act as a key point of contact for supplier performance and material availability issues.
Key tasks:

  • Plan and manage the supply of materials and components to support production requirements.
  • Manage purchase orders, supplier schedules and material availability.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve delivery, quality and supply issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to maintain production continuity.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning and Engineering teams to resolve material-related challenges.
  • Prepare reports and analyse supplier, inventory and purchasing performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness and service levels.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the Supply Chain team.
Your profile
  • Minimum 3 years  experience in a purchasing, materials planning, procurement or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Higher education qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ERP systems.
  • Experience of supplier relationship management and delivery performance improvement.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and material control processes.
  • Commercial and financial awareness, with a clear understanding of the impact of material shortages on business performance, customer delivery and production efficiency.
  • Knowledge of supply chain risk management and shortage recovery processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions based on operational requirements.
  • Experience with in electronics, manufacturing or engineering industries.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working within an international supply chain environment.
