Pay Range: $17.00/hr – $17.00/hr (base pay). Actual compensation depends on skills and experience. Contact recruiter for more details.

About the Role: The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of The Salvation Army property, including buildings and grounds. The role supports the Corps, Quarters, Domestic Violence Shelter, and Prather buildings.

• Interior: clean, strip, wax, seal, buff floors
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets
• Wash, dust and polish furniture and woodwork
• Clean restrooms, fountains, windows, blinds, and light fixtures
• Wash and paint walls
• Empty and clean waste receptacles
• Inventory and replenish janitorial supplies
• Exterior: mow and trim lawn, attend to landscaping
• Remove leaves, trash, snow and ice from walks, steps, driveway sections
• Wash windows
• Set up tables, chairs and other equipment for ongoing activities and special events
• Transport vehicles to garage for repairs and maintenance, check fluids and fill tanks on Fridays or as needed
• Ensure vehicles stay current on registrations and inspections
• Assist at the Shelter, Prather offices and Quarters as needed
• Coordinate with the Emergency Basic Needs Coordinator to receive items from the Food Bank and deliver to food pantry and shelter
• Additional duties as assigned by the Corps Officer

• Valid NY or PA driver’s license; must complete Salvation Army 12 Passenger van driving course (if over 21)
