Public Safety Liaison – AT&T Consulting

AT&T is transforming its network by retiring thousands of legacy copper wire centers and transitioning to modern, fiber-based infrastructure. To support this critical nationwide initiative, we’re seeking a Public Safety Liaison to ensure smooth communication and collaboration with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and state entities during the transition.

In this role, you will be the primary point of contact between AT&T and public safety organizations, keeping them informed and prepared as 9-1-1 networks move from traditional copper/TDM systems to fiber-based and next-generation solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Liaising with PSAPs and state offices on wire center decommissioning updates.
• Communicating timelines for SIP POI (Point of Interconnection) buildouts and migration activities.
• Keeping public safety agencies informed of milestones in the copper-to-fiber transition.
• Acting as a trusted liaison to answer questions and provide updates (note: you will not perform cutover activities).

• A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal).
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused under pressure.
• Experience collaborating across teams and presenting to senior leadership.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Comfort working independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in change control environments and familiarity with testing/acceptance criteria is a plus.

This is a high-impact position that directly supports the modernization of emergency communication networks across the US. You’ll help ensure that PSAPs and public safety agencies remain fully informed, connected, and prepared as AT&T retires legacy infrastructure and advances toward next-generation solutions.
