PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENTRESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Business Operations
FUNCTION: The Production Superintendent has responsibility of supervising all aspects of production and manufacturing throughout all TRC Allied Industries manufacturing facilities. Managing through direct reports all plant and shop floor functions including direction and supervision of personnel, efficient use of equipment, proper utilization of manufacturing supplies and coordination with shop floor controls. Works with minimal direction, organizing and supervising production planning and workflow to meet customer shipment schedules.
Primary work site is the Jamestown plant. Incumbent may assume production management responsibilities at other facilities as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent supervisory and communication skills; ability to supervise a mixed workforce including disabled and non-disabled workers.
- Strong technical knowledge of efficient setups and production line layouts.
- Ability to train others in normal workshop production activities.
- Effective communication with customers and all organizational levels; blue‑print reading, lean manufacturing, problem solving, machinery troubleshooting, prototype work.
- Excellent time management, able to handle multiple time‑sensitive, high‑volume logistics and production responsibilities.
- Self‑initiating, can work independently with little oversight.
- Reliability and flexibility; willing to work non‑traditional hours and travel for work.
- Physical condition or reasonable accommodations commensurate with job demands.
- Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of production management experience, with at least three (3) years of administrative supervision; OR Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of production management experience, with at least three (3) years of administrative supervision.
- Experience in an industrial sewing environment and managing government contract production preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to travel for work.
- Position exempt from FLSA overtime; will receive annual salary commensurate with responsibilities and work schedule.
- Maintain budget performance for production efficiency, material usage, and quality control.
- Assign production orders based on equipment capacity and personnel availability.
- Communicate with material suppliers and customers regarding shipping schedules and quality issues.
- Control costs and use manpower, supplies, and machines efficiently.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, customers, engineers, and project managers on new product design.
- Recommend machinery acquisition with Engineering.
- Work with Inventory management to maintain required production inventories.
- Support ISO 9001 quality management system as part of management team.
- Administrative supervision of Allied staff: hiring, discipline, performance evaluation, training, staffing, orientation, and personnel matters.
- Administer contracts: schedules, scope of work, quality assurance, labor reporting, indirect labor, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain shop floor controls for inventory and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Use ISO Express, EPICOR, and Ulti Pro electronic management systems.
Grade: 23/24, Exempt. PTO/CAT: 4 days.
