Positions:
Ship Hull Fitter / Structural Fitter / Welder / Grinder

Location:

Poland, Serbia, Romania, Germany (Shipyards / Offshore / Heavy Fabrication Units)

We are hiring experienced Ship Hull Fitters for leading shipyards and heavy fabrication projects in Poland. The role involves assembly and fitting of steel structures, especially ship hull components, based on technical drawings and European quality standards.

• Assemble and fit ship hull structures and steel components as per drawings
• Perform manual oxygen cutting (straight cutting and beveling)
• Carry out tack welding using:
  • 111 (Arc welding)
  • 135 (MIG/MAG)
  • 136 (Flux-cored)
• Read and interpret:
  • Technical drawings
  • Hull structure drawings
  • Symbols and markings
• Identify:
  • Correct part location in drawings
  • Dimensions and alignment requirements
• Use tools and equipment such as:
  • Pneumatic tools
  • Hydraulic tools
  • Magnetic tools
  • Measuring instruments
• Assist in lifting and positioning using cranes (as hookman/operator if certified)

• Perform welding using:
  • 136 Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • 138 Metal Cored Arc Welding (MCAW)
• Types of welding required:
  • Fillet welds (single-pass & multi-pass)
  • Butt welds, including:
    • Single side (without backing)
    • Single side (with ceramic backing)
    • Double side welding (with back gouging)
• Work in different welding positions:
  • Flat (PA)
  • Horizontal (PC)
  • Vertical (PF)
  • Overhead (PD)
• Perform:
  • Air carbon arc gouging (back cutting)
  • Oxy-fuel cutting (gas cutting torch)
• Read basic drawings and follow welding instructions (WPS)

• Perform grinding and finishing using:
  • Angle grinder
  • End milling / grinding tools
• Carry out:
  • Removal of weld defects (start/stop marks, excess weld, irregularities)
  • Surface smoothing and finishing
  • Edge rounding (as per required radius)
• Ensure:
  • No damage or cuts to base material during grinding
  • Proper surface finish as per quality standards
• Identify and correct:
  • Surface defects
  • Weld imperfections not meeting acceptance standards
• Select correct:
  • Grinding discs
  • Abrasive materials based on surface type

• ITI / Diploma in:
  • Fitter
  • Fabrication
  • Structural / Mechanical trade
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in:
  • Shipyard / offshore / heavy fabrication

• Oxy-fuel (gas cutting) certificate
• Certification or experience in:
  • Tack welding (111 / 135 / 136 processes)
• Crane / Hookman certificate (preferred or mandatory depending on project)

• Strong experience in:
  • Ship hull fitting / structural assembly
  • Manual gas cutting and beveling
  • Tack welding in multiple positions
• Ability to:
  • Read and understand technical & hull drawings independently
  • Perform accurate measurement and alignment
• Familiar with:
  • Assembly tools and equipment
  • Industrial safety practices
