The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical care to patients with allergic
and immunologic conditions. The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, treats and manages acute
and chronic allergy and immune-related disorders in collaboration with physicians.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* None
Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Position:
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
* Diagnose and manage conditions such as
Seasonal and environmental allergies
Asthma
Food allergies
Eczema/atopic dermatitis
Immune deficiencies
* Order, perform and interpret diagnostic testing, including allergy skin testing.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
* Prescribe medications and therapies according to state regulations and practice agreements.
* Administer and monitor allergy immunotherapy injections.
* Educate patients and families on disease management, medication use and emergency response plans.
* Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
* Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic health records.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
* Other duties as assigned.
Position
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
* Master's Degree in accredited NP program
* Active New York State NP license.
EXPERIENCE (Years & Certifications):
* 1-2 years of relevant experience or willingness to training directly in allergy/immunology preferred
SKILLS:
* Knowledge of allergy and immunology disorders and treatments
* Ability to perform and interpret allergy testing
* Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills

* Experience with biologic therapies and immunotherapy protocols
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast past clinical setting
* Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards.
