Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner
The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical care to patients with allergic and immunologic conditions. The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, treats and manages acute and chronic allergy and immune-related disorders in collaboration with physicians.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as Seasonal and environmental allergies Asthma Food allergies Eczema/atopic dermatitis Immune deficiencies
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic testing, including allergy skin testing.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and therapies according to state regulations and practice agreements.
• Administer and monitor allergy immunotherapy injections.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medication use and emergency response plans.
• Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic health records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Master's Degree in accredited NP program
• Active New York State NP license.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or willingness to training directly in allergy/immunology preferred
• Knowledge of allergy and immunology disorders and treatments
• Ability to perform and interpret allergy testing
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Experience with biologic therapies and immunotherapy protocols
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast past clinical setting
• Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards.
