Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Purpose:
The ESOH Specialist is responsible for inspecting and evaluating the workplace, equipment and practices for adherence to the Environmental Safety and Health Program (implemented by the ESH Manager) and government health and safety standards and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain safety equipment inventory, perform periodic safety inspections, and monitor hazardous waste removal vendors.
- Assist in consolidating hazardous waste (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
- Conduct training in emergency response and hazardous material handling in collaboration with various departments.
- Monitor environmental compliance and maintain liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Recommend corrective action for environmental health and safety hazards.
- Assist in the administration of the worker’s compensation program and implementation of workplace ergonomics solutions.
- Monitor industrial health compliance and ensure strict adherence to safety practices.
- Support Safety Policies and Procedures and foster a safety‑first mentality within work areas.
- Adhere to ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions in support of the Quality Management System.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree. (Two years’ job‑related experience may substitute for each year of education.)
- Experience: Perform all other position‑related duties as assigned or requested.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DoD, OSHA, OEBGD, ISO 9001:2008 and 14001 standards, hazardous waste management, and other applicable federal regulations.
- Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer‑service focused, able to work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
- Discretion, good judgment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

Certification, License & Clearance- Professional certification/accreditation (STS, OHST, SMS, CSP, etc.) desired.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required. International driver’s license preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a CAC if required.
- Facility credentials/authorization required (U.S. Citizenship required for the work location).
Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures, endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions, and adhere to environmental, safety, and health standards including use of PPE.
Other Responsibilities- Safety: Foster a safety culture; complete all training requirements, participate in emergency response tasks, serve on safety committees and teams.
- Quality: Conform to Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable quality system documents and customer contracts.
- Procedure Compliance: Read, understand, and implement general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies.

Compensation Details$31.32 per hour; housing and transportation provided by program.
