The Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) announces a single-stage selection procedure for the position of Assistant Research and Teaching at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Institute of Biology.

A person applying for this position must meet the requirements outlined in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018, Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws 2026, item 1668 as amended), in the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).

Mandatory requirements for candidates:

  • Master's degree in biology, biotechnology, microbiology, or another field with a biological profile
  • specialization in microbiology and molecular biology, documented by professional experience, co-authorship of scientific publications, or the subject of a diploma thesis
  • scientific achievements in the represented specialty, including authorship or co-authorship of at least 1 scientific publication that was published in scientific journals included in the current lists of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education with a score above 100 points.
  • Independence in planning, implementing, or managing projects financed by research funding institutions
  • At least good knowledge of English, to the extent that allows one to independently write scientific publications in this language and present reports at scientific conferences,
  • Knowledge of Polish and English to the extent enabling conducting classes with students in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related subjects,
  • Knowledge of microbiological techniques and molecular biology, practical skills in a microbial laboratory: independent preparation of microbiological media, cultures of various groups of microorganisms, analysis of mobile genetic elements of bacteria

Additional advantages of the candidates will be:

  • Experience and interests in antibiotic resistance mechanisms,
  • Ability to analyze bacterial genomic sequences
  • Work or internship at a research center,
  • Documented science popularization activities and experience in organizational activities.

  • Copy of degree diploma/possible copy of doctoral diploma,
  • professional CV, list of scientific (list of publications, conferences, projects carried out),
  • pedagogical and organizational achievements,
  • applicant's declaration or document confirming knowledge of English,
  • applicant's declaration that he/she meets, inter alia, the requirements set out in Art. 113 of the above-mentioned Act and that SGGW will be his/her main place of work within the meaning of the above-mentioned Act,
  • other necessary documents confirming fulfillment of the requirements contained in the call for applications.
