The Scientific and Research Centre for Fire Protection – National Research Institute (CNBOP-PIB) is a research institute of the State Fire Service, whose mission is to ensure the general security of the State, especially in the areas of fire protection, environmental engineering, and civil protection. CNBOP-PIB seeks a qualified and motivated researcher to join its Department of Studies and Research Projects as an Assistant.

• Conduct research and development activities in Environmental Engineering, Mining, and Energy Engineering.
• Implement research projects and disseminate scientific achievements through publications and conference organisation.
• Cooperate with external partners in Poland and abroad.
• Obtain new sources of financing for scientific and research activities.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering and Technical Sciences, preferably in Environmental Engineering, Mining, or Energy Engineering (PhD in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering and Transport, or Chemical Engineering also acceptable).
• Defined area of research competence and scientific profile consistent with the Institute’s focus.
• Publication record in journals listed in JCR (Journal Citation Reports).
• Knowledge of the Institute’s activities, intellectual property rights protection regulations, new technologies, research trends, and innovative processes.
• Experience in research and/or development projects and collaboration with external partners.
• Laboratory experience.
• Command of Polish (fluency required).
• Command of English – at least B2 level (CEFR).
• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools.

• Willingness to declare the Institute as the primary place of employment and be included in the Institute’s official research staff count.
• Knowledge of the Act on Research Institutes and the Act on Higher Education and Science.

• Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Poland.
• Maximum employment period of five years, with promotion possible upon obtaining a PhD degree.
• Must declare CNBOP-PIB as the primary place of employment and be included in the Institute’s official research staff count.
