We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Koç University İşbank Center for Infectious Diseases and contribute to research activities in the fields of biotechnology, microbiology, and antimicrobial resistance.

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with strong knowledge and experience in the microbiological applications of biotechnology, particularly in the evaluation and development of novel therapeutic approaches against antibiotic-resistant and multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Required Qualifications

• A PhD degree in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field
• Research experience in microbiology and/or biotechnology
• Preferably, previous research experience in antimicrobial resistance
• Hands‑on experience working with antibiotic‑resistant or multidrug‑resistant bacteria
• Experience in nanoparticle‑based antimicrobial research, nanobiotechnology, or other innovative therapeutic strategies targeting bacterial infections
• Experience in antimicrobial susceptibility testing, biofilm assays, and bacterial killing assays
• Experience in grant writing, project development, and/or preparation of research proposals
• A strong publication record in internationally peer‑reviewed scientific journals
• At least two publications in reputable scientific journals within the relevant research fields
• Advanced written and spoken English proficiency
• Strong competencies in experimental design, data analysis, interpretation of research findings, and scientific writing
• Ability to conduct independent research and work effectively as part of a collaborative research team
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• A responsible, systematic, and detail‑oriented approach to laboratory work
• Commitment to research ethics, biosafety, scientific integrity, and reproducibility standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in molecular microbiology techniques
• Experience in interdisciplinary or translational research projects
• Experience in coordinating research projects and collaborating with internal and external research groups
• Experience mentoring master’s and doctoral students or early‑career researchers
• Knowledge and experience in laboratory management, biosafety procedures, quality practices, and the organization of research infrastructure
