The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in physical sciences or chemical sciences or materials engineering.
  • Documented predispositions for the experimental research work (publications in journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
  • Good working knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Proven competence in academic teaching in Polish language.

Additionally, the following are highly desirable:

  • Experience in preparation and application of scientific grants,
  • Scientific plans – in particular, developing new research topics in field of experimental nuclear physics or solid state physics,
  • Documented long term research stays,
  • Active participation in scientific conferences and other scientific events.

Responsibilities

In the research area:conducting scientific research, publishing results of the work in scientific journals, active participation in scientific conferences, applying for research grants and research internships, participating in the implementation of research grants, reviewing scientific papers.

In the teaching area: conducting classes; supervising master’s and bachelor’s theses in this area.

In the organizational area: working in university collegiate bodies, recruitment and examination committees during the recruitment process, organizing and participating in university promotional campaigns.

  • A photocopy of the diploma certifying the Ph.D. academic degree.
  • Declaration whether, in the event of winning the application, the University of Wrocław will be the primary place of work (download Workplace Statement ).
  • Declaration as to the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research, and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline: the percentage share of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline ).
  • Self-report containing the characteristics of the current scientific and didactic achievements, as well as organizational and promoting science activities with information about mobility.
  • List of the candidate's publications for a period not exceeding 10 years.
  • Electronic versions of the two most important publications (or typescripts of unpublished works), representative of candidate’s scientific achievements.
  • Two letters of recommendation - the letters are confidential and have to be e‑mailed directly to the address:
