Position
:
Doctoral stipend in the project “Relaxation and Dynamics in Non-Equilibrium Topological Quantum Matter” carried out as part of the OPUS 27 NCN competition under the supervision of dr. hab. Nicholas Sedlmayr, prof. UMCS.

Conditions
:

  • you need a to have completed a master’s degree in physics or a related field;
  • you will be enrolled as a PhD student at the time of starting the project and during the period of the project tasks;
  • English language skills at a B2 level;
  • knowledge of theoretical physics, in particular condensed matter physics or quantum dynamics;
  • knowledge of Python and Mathematica.

Additional conditions:

A research statement in condensed matter physics would be an additional benefit.

Description
:

The scholarship holder will conduct research in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics.

The research work is within the project entitled:
Relaxation and Dynamics in Non-Equilibrium Topological Quantum Matter   carried out as part of an OPUS 27 competition.

The duties of the employed person will include conducting research in the field of condensed matter physics, in particular considering the following”

  • OTOCs and information scrambling in topological matter
  • Stability and control of boundary modes under non-equilibrium conditions
  • Topological in variants and entanglement beyond the ground state
  • Response of the system to local quenches
