VICE-RECTOR IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES AT THE ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY, POZNAN ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION for the position of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR located at the RNA Biochemistry Research Unit in the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the Faculty of Biology.

• PhD in biological sciences;
• experience in research in the field of biochemistry of ribonucleic acids (RNA);
• experience in the studies of the thermodynamic stability of RNA interactions with bacterial proteins using radioactively labeled RNA and purified proteins in vitro;
• experience in enzymatic synthesis and radioactive labelling of RNA using 32P isotope and experience with work in the isotope room
• experience in the studies of the RNA structure and the protein binding sites using the foot printing method with ribonucleolytic enzymes and chemical reagents monitored using sequencing gels;
• experience in the studies of interactions between RNA and between RNAs and proteins in Escherichia coli cells using RNA deep sequencing methods;
• scientific achievements in all of the above-mentioned research areas, documented in a form of publication in a good level international scientific journal as the first author or in the form of a doctoral thesis.
• at least 3 months of international research experience in a leading laboratory specializing in the studies of regulatory RNAs and RNA-binding proteins in
  
  E. coli.
• scientific achievements in all the above-mentioned fields of research documented in the form of publication as the first author in international scientific journal or in the form of the PhD thesis;
• teaching experience on biochemistry at the academic level

• experience in teaching at the academic level; compliance of the candidate's teaching skills with the didactic activity of the Faculty of Biology; readiness to conduct classes in Polish and English (0-5 pts).

• competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents;
• formal evaluation of submitted proposals;
• call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary;
• selection of candidates for the interview stage;
• interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements;
• the committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation;
• the chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates; this information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses; submitted documents will be sent back to candidates (not applicable for documents sent by e-mail).
