research and Teaching Assistant (W/M)

Skills/Qualifications

• Qualification requirements:
• a Master’s degree in medical biotechnology,
• a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences
• first author of at least two original publications, published in journals or publications included on the lists drawn up by the relevant Minister for Higher Education. For the purposes of this document, an original publication is defined as a scientific article or a scientific monograph (excluding chapters in monographs), the definitions of which are set out in the Regulation on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity,
• author or co-author of scientific publications issued in the last two calendar years, for which he or she has earned at least 140 points from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, calculated based on the author’s share of the publication. Publication points are calculated according to the year of publication,
• has a total IF of at least 20
• a proven track record of teaching and organisational activities,
• documented involvement (at least as a so-called researcher/member of a research team) in the implementation or preparation of research grants (which were not rejected at the first stage of substantive assessment) in collaboration with the Medical University of Silesia (ŚUM) as part of national calls for proposals (in particular: NCN – National Science Centre, NCBiR – National Centre for Research and Development, MNiSW – Ministry of Science and Higher Education, FNP – Foundation for Polish Science, ABM – Medical Research Agency, and NAWA – National Agency for Academic Exchange;
  
  and regional competitions, including MFWN – the Metropolitan Fund for the Support of Science) or international competitions, funded in part by external sources, awarded no earlier than four years prior to the year of application submission. An applicant who is not an employee of the University may submit documents confirming the implementation of the aforementioned research projects for the specified period without the involvement of the Medical University of Silesia.”,
• involvement in at least one patent or patent application,
• documented teaching experience (workshops, lectures, training courses),
• involvement in the organisation of conferences, workshops, summer schools or academic events,
• involvement in promoting the university or in organisational activities,
• experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and in collaboration with industry,
• knowledge of modern technologies in the fields of biomaterials, translational research, 3D printing, electrospinning and implant prototyping,
• experience in international projects,
• experience in teaching students,
• fluent command of English,
• Foreign nationals are required to have a working knowledge of Polish, both spoken and written.

• Required documents:
• a written declaration of will to participate in the competition, addressed to the Rector,
• personal questionnaire for the person applying for employment,
• declaration of no criminal record,
• copies of documents confirming education and professional qualifications, in particular: higher education diploma, license to practice medicine, certificate of recognition of a foreign diploma as equivalent to a Polish diploma (if applicable),
• other documents confirming your qualifications (a list of publications with IF scores, ministerial scores, certificates held, etc.)
