Offer Description

Conducting scientific activities related to the implementation of own research projects and participating in scientific projects utilizing highly specialized equipment for imaging and preparing biological and material specimens (electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, light sheet microscopes, preparation techniques using conventional, cryogenic, and in vivo methods) within the Faculty of Biology Microscopy Laboratory at the Jagiellonian University, with the aim of increasing knowledge resources and utilizing these resources to create new applications.

Conducting research and development activities in collaboration with enterprises. Engaging in knowledge transfer and commercialization of research results. Providing substantive and technical support to internal and external users of the Laboratory's equipment.

Requirements

Research Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate should hold at least a doctoral degree,

have appropriate scientific achievements,

have experience working with light and electron microscopes,

have at least a good command of English, both written and spoken,

have organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

Be willing to collaborate nationally and internationally.

Specific Requirements

  • Conducting scientific research using the equipment available in the Laboratory.
  • Preparing project proposals utilizing the Laboratory's infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with the use of electron microscopes: scanning and transmission electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, and light sheet microscopes.
  • Establishing scientific collaborations, recruiting users of the Laboratory's scientific equipment, and establishing contacts with entrepreneurs and R&D institutions.
  • Managing a team of Laboratory staff.
  • Maintaining records of Laboratory equipment use.
  • Demonstrate a good command of spoken and written English that is sufficient for scientific communication and publishing.
  • Analytical skills and ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Openness to international cooperation
  • Willingness to supervise employees of the Faculty of Biology Microscopy Laboratory.
