Offer Description

The candidate should hold a university degree (Master's or Master of Science in Engineering) in the exact sciences, natural sciences (physical sciences), or technical sciences (automation and robotics, electronics, computer science, materials engineering).

Participation in statutory tasks undertaken at the IPPLM. Establishing international collaboration and participating in international research projects. Execution of tasks assigned within the Department. Conducting research, publishing findings, and reporting on research results. Working independently to organize and optimize one's own work time. Collaborating with other team members. The candidate's research activities will involve tasks related to X-ray and gamma-ray spectroscopy and data analysis, focusing on phenomena occurring in thermonuclear devices such as tokamaks and stellarators.

Additionally, the candidate will participate in tasks dedicated to the development of plasma diagnostics. A key aspect of the role will be collaborating with international research teams and participating in experimental campaigns abroad. Responsibilities will also include preparing plans and reports regarding the tasks being carried out.

Requirements

Research Field Physics » Other Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of nuclear physics; knowledge of plasma physics is an asset.
  • Experience in experimental work and data analysis.
  • Experience in securing external research funding and a track record of scientific publications are assets.
  • Programming skills and the ability to write scripts for data processing.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Experience working in international research teams.
  • Programming skills in Python, Matlab, IDL, etc.
  • Experience with Linux.
