Offer Description
  • Conducting research in Greek and Coptic papyrology.
  • Publishing research findings in renowned academic journals and in monographs.
  • Securing and implementing national and international research projects.
  • Collaborating with national and international research institutions and teams.
  • Presenting research results at academic conferences.

Participating in the unit's organizational activities and carrying out other tasks related to the position, assigned by the supervisor, in accordance with the regulations applicable at the University of Warsaw.

Requirements

Research Field History » Archaeology Education Level PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

  • Fulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text)
  • PhD in Classical Philology, Ancient History, Archaeology, or a related discipline.
  • Significant research achievements in Greek and Coptic papyrology, documented by publications in renowned international academic journals.
  • Experience in editing, studying, and interpreting Greek papyri, as well as expertise in textual criticism and philological analysis of unpublished Greek and Coptic literary sources.
  • Significant research experience gained after obtaining a doctoral degree, particularly at recognized international research institutions.
  • Experience of implementing and leading national and international research projects.

Fluency in spoken and written Polish, enabling independent performance of duties related to the position, particularly communication with the administration of the University of Warsaw and participation in the unit's organizational activities.

Specific Requirements

  • The candidate’s research record (quality and number of publications).
  • Experience in editing, studying, and interpreting Greek and Coptic papyrological sources.
  • Research experience and scientific independence gained after obtaining a doctoral degree.
  • Experience of implementing and leading national and international research projects.
  • International activity and cooperation with foreign research institutions.

An interview covering the candidate’s vision for further academic development and the alignment of their research plans with the profile of the University of Warsaw’s Centre for Mediterranean Archaeology.

  • The competition consists of the following stages:
  • Stage I - formal evaluation of documents,
  • Stage II - substantive evaluation on the basis of submitted documents,
  • Stage III - interview with selected candidates,
  • Stage IV - final evaluation of competence, experience and scientific achievements,

Stage V - adjudication of the competition and announcement of results.
