Offer Description

The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113, 116(2) of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science meet the following eligibility criteria:

- possession of a MA degree in theology

- experience in the field of scientific work, in particular in terms of publication of research results in publishing houses and journals included in the lists kept for the purposes of evaluating the quality of scientific activity - at least: an article in a journal from the list of at least 70 points or two articles in journals from the list, one of at least 40 points, or authorship/co-authorship of a scientific monograph (in the last 2 years before announcement of the competition).

- knowledge of Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic and Latin (ancient) as well as contemporary English or Italian certified or attested at least at B2 proficiency level.

Specific Requirements

- possession of a doctoral degree in Theological Studies with biblical specialization and licentiate in Biblical Studies (SSL, PIB Rome preferred)

- research interests in Aramaic targums, the Revelation of John, Jewish literature of the Second Temple period, intertextuality

- some experience in archeology or a degree in this field

- experience in popularizing biblical knowledge

- membership of international biblical associations

- proven participation in scientific international conferences

- in the case of candidates who are academic staff, a recent periodic appraisal

Eligibility criteria

Candidates entering the competition are asked to submit the following documents:

1. CV,

2. personal questionnaire for the applicant for employment,

3. a copy of a MA degree in theology

4. information on the Candidate's scientific, teaching and organisational achievements,

5. information on research work plans with an indication of projected results;

6. statement that the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) will be the principal place of work in case of winning the competition,

7. a statement of fulfilment of the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science,

8. references, opinion on predispositions to scientific and didactic work.

9. the consent of the bishop or religious superior in the case of clergy,

Selection process

The first stage of the competition procedure is formal verification of the submitted documents. Offers which pass formal verification are subject to substantive evaluation, during which an interview may be conducted (directly or via electronic communication channels), after prior arrangement of the date with the Candidate.
