is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor – the role in the project POST-DOC (f_m)
as part of the project entitled “Toward tumor-agnostic multiomic biomarkers in early detection of non-small lung cancer relapse”.The project is funded by the Medical Research Agency under the TRANSMED I programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- actively participating in the planning, conduct and implementation of scientific research and development activities in line with the scope of the project,
- independently carrying out laboratory work using human biological material and molecular biology techniques,
- optimising and validating DNA library preparation protocols for NGS and Oxford Nanopore sequencing,
- organising, recording and overseeing the handling of biological samples,
- performing preliminary analysis and interpretation of sequencing data,
- maintaining research documentation and preparing materials for scientific publications and patent applications,
- presenting research results at project team meetings, scientific seminars, national and international conferences, and other scientific events,
- providing scientific support, training and supervision to junior members of the research team,
- collaborating with clinicians on an interdisciplinary basis within the project.
REQUIREMENTS:
- a doctoral degree (PhD) in biotechnology or a related field, such as biology or medical laboratory science,
- a documented scientific track record, including at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed international scientific journal,
- at least one year of research experience at an institution abroad,
- hands‑on experience in library preparation using next‑generation sequencing (NGS) and/or long‑read sequencing (Oxford Nanopore Technologies),
- experience working with biological material,
- practical knowledge and experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, cloning, Western blotting and immunoprecipitation,
- knowledge of bioinformatic analysis of genome-wide data would be an additional asset,
- the ability to plan, conduct and document scientific experiments,
- fluency in spoken and written English.
