Research and teaching assistant in the Department of Molecular Biophysics at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University

Research Field Biological sciences » Biology Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Candidate must prove:

1. Hold at least a master’s degree, a master’s degree in engineering, or an equivalent degree

2. demonstrate an inclination for research work

3. are qualified to perform teaching duties

4. theoretical and practical knowledge of biophysical techniques (including Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, optical spectroscopy—including low-temperature spectroscopy and chromatographic techniques; experience in isolating and working with membrane proteins; knowledge of structural biology techniques).

5.proficiency in Polish sufficient to conduct classes.

6. proficiency in English sufficient to work with scientific literature in the field of biophysics.

7. documented research achievements in the field of biophysics/biochemistry or structural biology.

8.a positive evaluation from the department head or academic advisor regarding the candidate’s aptitude for research and teaching.

9. knowledge of current issues in molecular bioenergetics and photosynthesis.

10. active participation in the scientific community, as evidenced in particular by presentations at conferences and symposia.

Salary and benefits

base salary in the amount of/range 6,500 PLN - 7000 PLN gross;
seniority allowance based on length of service (3-20%);
long-service awards for years of service – in accordance with the Jagiellonian University Remuneration Regulations;
possible task-based and periodic allowances as well as discretionary bonuses - upon meeting the conditions set forth in the Jagiellonian University Remuneration Regulations;
additional annual remuneration, the so-called "thirteenth salary" - upon meeting the conditions specified in the relevant regulation
