We are seeking a Lead C++ Engineer with Observability to lead the observability implementation. This role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring customer experience, system reliability and operational insight are measurable and embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience from low‑latency trading, market data or other high‑performance distributed systems, with a strong C++ background and a track record of building production monitoring, telemetry and operational tooling at scale.
Responsibilities- Lead observability implementation across the software development lifecycle
- Ensure customer experience, system reliability and operational insight are measurable and embedded
- Build and operate large-scale monitoring, observability or control platforms
- Establishment of standards and drive adoption of observability best practices
- Engagement with development teams effectively to deliver telemetry and operational tooling
- Implementation of metrics, tracing, logging, profiling and telemetry pipelines
- Drive customer‑experience measurement for latency‑sensitive market data systems
- Influence engineering teams to align on observability outcomes
- 7+ years of experience in observability engineering, including metrics, tracing and logging
- Expertise in profiling and telemetry pipelines
- Understanding of customer‑experience measurement for latency‑sensitive market data systems
- Background in building and operating large‑scale monitoring, observability or control platforms
- Proficiency in C++ engineering and the ability to engage effectively with development teams
- Skills in Open Telemetry, eBPF and Git Ops
- Competency in API‑driven automation and CI/CD‑integrated observability practices
- Familiarity with cloud‑native, Kubernetes and distributed systems architectures
- Proven ability to influence engineering teams and establish standards
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Background in trading or market‑making
- Familiarity with exchange connectivity
- Knowledge of market data environments
