Senior Engineer

VGW is an interactive entertainment company, harnessing technology and creativity to deliver world-class, free-to-play online social games.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team in Poland and are currently looking for a Senior Engineer.

In this role, you will solve complex migration problems across varied game mechanics and architectures to help migrate existing games to our new platform, while supporting the broader Game Studio Enablement ecosystem.

In terms of our tech stack, we host our Docker containerised apps on AWS using EKS Kubernetes. In the containers, we run Kotlin with Spring Boot on the JVM, and Type Script on Node.js with Fastify for our game math model servers. Type Script runs our client side where it’s mostly PixiJS with Spine and GSAP for game rendering.

• 5+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with strong core engineering fundamentals
• Strong proficiency in Type Script alongside solid frontend and backend development capabilities
• Pixi.js experience is very desirable
• Hands‑on cloud experience, ideally using AWS
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams and global time zones
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools and workflows

• End-to-End Feature Delivery:
  Collaboratively design, build, test, and release features while optimizing key delivery metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, MTTR)
• Technical & Architecture Leadership:
  Run team design sessions to solve complex architectural problems, evaluate risks, and drive the team toward the best operational solutions
• Continuous Delivery & Code Quality:
  Implement robust Continuous Delivery practices across a secure SDLC, ensuring high coding standards and regular, high-quality code reviews
• Service Reliability & Observability:
  Maintain system uptime, performance, and security by helping to define and monitor critical SLIs/SLOs, runbooks, and alarms
• Mentorship & Team Growth:
  Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, drive internal skill‑sharing, and help grow the engineering team through the recruitment process
• Strategic Alignment:
  Maintain living system documentation and align technical planning directly with Team and Company OKRs
