Position: POS / Retail Systems Engineer
Location: Town of Poland

Responsibilities
  • supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Point of Sale (POS) solutions within a multi-brand retail environment,
  • integrating POS platforms with eCommerce, ERP, and CRM systems,
  • participating in end-to-end implementation and store rollout activities,
  • ensuring reliable and seamless in-store sales operations, including checkout, pricing, promotions, and transaction processing,
  • providing L2/L3 support for business-critical retail systems,
  • troubleshooting production issues and contributing to system stability and performance improvements,
  • collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver effective retail technology solutions.
Profile
  • 5–8 years of experience in retail technology, POS engineering, or a similar role,
  • hands‑on experience with Front Systems POS or comparable Point of Sale platforms,
  • experience working in a techno‑functional role, combining hands‑on work with APIs and integrations with a strong understanding of retail business processes,
  • strong understanding of middleware solutions and integration layers,
  • proven ability to support high‑transaction, business‑critical systems with a strong focus on performance, stability, and reliability,
  • ability to overlap working hours with teams operating in the Pacific Time Zone (PST) for a few hours on a regular basis,
  • strong understanding of retail store operations, checkout processes, pricing, and promotions,
  • experience integrating enterprise systems using REST or SOAP APIs,
  • familiarity with JSON and XML data formats,
  • solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases,
  • experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS,
  • understanding of omnichannel retail environments and integrations between online and offline sales channels,
  • experience providing L2/L3 support for business‑critical applications,
  • strong analytical and problem‑solving skills,
  • ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams,
  • good communication skills in English (min. B2),
  • practical experience using AI‑powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision‑making in software delivery.

Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have
  • experience working within Nordic retail environments,
  • familiarity with Adobe Commerce, Magento, or similar eCommerce platforms,
  • participation in large‑scale POS transformation or modernization projects,
  • experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work,
  • interest in and familiarity with emerging AI‑driven practices (e.g. agent‑based workflows, automation patterns, AI‑augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
