Job Overview
Integrates Acxiom and third‑party software to create solutions that address business problems defined by specific requirements. Utilizes technical and data processing knowledge to solve moderately complex marketing and data‑warehousing challenges on very large volumes of data.
Responsibilities- Understand requirements to build, enhance, or integrate programs and processes for one or more Acxiom client solutions and/or applications.
- Read and interpret application design and functional specifications to write application code.
- Provide input on functional requirements and participate in review code in code review sessions.
- Accurately estimate requirements to deliver client solutions on time and to quality standards.
- Utilize standard Acxiom methodologies to maintain solution and data integrity.
- Understand Acxiom solution software.
- Define solution standards, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and diagnose areas for maintenance and process improvement.
- Respond to client/stakeholder problems in a timely manner, prioritizing issues based on severity.
- Develop and execute unit test cases and test software applications that fulfill functional specifications using an IDE.
- Document and interpret test results and correct application coding errors.
- Complete application development tasks for 20 to 160 hours with limited or no assistance from peers.
- Balance multiple small projects and work on larger projects with minimal guidance from more experienced developers to meet due dates and deadlines.
- Maintain and develop subject‑matter expertise in Acxiom technologies, verticals, and lines of business to align client business needs with products, solutions, and services.
- Document and share best practices and case studies.
- Work independently and self‑directed.
- Provide formal mentorship.
- Own high‑complexity assignments.
- Own moderate‑complexity assignments.
- Provide oversight or review for low‑complexity assignments.
- Lead through self‑development and establish as a specialist.
- See the whole picture and adjust work accordingly.
- May mentor less experienced associates but has no direct reports.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or a master’s degree with little to no experience.
- No certification required.
- Four‑year college degree in a relevant field or relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in three or more relevant software development languages (Java, , C#, ASP.NET, SQL/PL‑SQL, C/C++, Datastage, Ab Initio, Perl, Shell Scripting, XML, HTML, PHP/MySQL, AWK/SED, JavaScript).
- Exposure to Linux/Unix operating systems, including commands and file management.
- Application of relational database principles; experience with Oracle or other DBMS.
- Application of industry standards and best practices in solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively to other members of the development team.
