Job Description

What We Are Looking For

Stem is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to serve as a technical leader and architect across our clean energy software platforms Power Track. You will drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance systems that manage vast volumes of energy data and deliver intuitive user experiences. This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor and influence engineering teams as we accelerate the clean energy transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Architecture – The role will be responsible for overseeing and alignment of the current and future design, and architecture of data processing. Experience in distributed event streaming platforms is preferred.
  • Act as technical liaison between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure architectural decisions support strategic objectives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full stack features across web applications, from user interface to backend services and database integrations.
  • Ensure proper security best practices are followed for all aspects of development and deployment of production systems/services.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and propose new tools that improve development efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization strategies, and monitoring solutions for deployed applications.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in full stack development with a track record of delivering complex applications.

    Skills:
    • React (preferred), Angular, Vue.js, Node.js
    • Redis
    • C# (preferred), fluency in other languages is a plus
    • SQL/No

      SQL databases
    • Git, CI/CD tools (Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions)
    • Testing frameworks and TDD
Preferred Qualifications
  • Time-series databases and IoT data processing.
  • Data analytics and machine learning concepts.
  • Real-time data streaming and processing.
  • Charting libraries and data visualization frameworks (D3.js, Chart.js, Plotly).
  • Knowledge of energy industry standards and protocols.
  • Background in building applications for regulated industries.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active technical community involvement.
Engagement Model

This is a remote B2B contract position based in Poland or Romania. You will collaborate with a globally distributed team primarily operating within CET/CEST working hours.

While this position is remote, occasional trips to the Berlin office may be required.
