Software Engineer III, Content AI

Warsaw, PL

Mid level Software Engineer will be a member of the agile team which is responsible for design and development of scalable microservices for Peloton’s core features across all platforms (Bike, Tread, Strength, and Digital). The Content AI Team is responsible for training and hosting various models in the domains of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). The candidate will develop, test, deploy, and monitor microservices that specifically power features like search, voice, and subtitles, which are crucial for platform expansion and international growth.

Good communication skills are essential for providing updates to engineering leads and other stakeholders, such as Technical Program Managers.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
  • Develop and maintain business-critical APIs and services with a focus on high availability, low latency, security and scalability under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Effectively provide updates to the team leaders and participate in sprint planning and team meetings.
  • Write understandable, well-tested code with an eye towards maintainability and scalability.
  • Contribute to building reusable code, libraries, and patterns for use across teams.
  • Implement solutions to scale services while meeting business and product requirements, often under supervision.
  • Utilize production monitoring/profiling/tracing and load testing tools to discover bottlenecks and apply techniques such as data modeling, query optimization, and caching to address them.
  • Understand and implement industry best practices such as feature toggles, CI/CD, test automation, logging, and monitoring in order to ensure confidence in our release process.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and assist with incident response efforts to maintain system reliability.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
  • MS or BS degree in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 3+ years of software development experience building backend cloud application systems.
  • Experience in Kotlin, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Bottle/Gunicorn, or similar backend web frameworks (JVM or Python).
  • Familiarity with both relational (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and No

    SQL (e.g. DynamoDB, Mongo) databases.
  • Familiarity with Elastic Search.
  • Familiarity with caching systems such as Memcache, Redis.
  • Experience with request processing such as REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
  • Ability to work in high growth, fast‑paced environments and adapt to change.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (DynamoDB, S3, ECR, IAM, Lambda, SQS) and cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Familiarity with deployment tooling such as Terraform, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog or similar APM solutions.
  • Understanding of API design principles, security best practices, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with production support and troubleshooting issues in distributed systems.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional team members from Product, Design, and QA.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with building personal voice digital assistants or chatbots.
  • Experience with building search platforms, personalizing search and discovery.
  • Worked with automatic speech recognition (ASR).
