Senior BI Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior BI Data Engineer to join our project with a leading European telecommunications company serving millions of customers. The client is actively investing in cloud technologies and modern data platforms to support large-scale analytics and business intelligence solutions.

As a Senior BI Data Engineer, you will work as part of an international team to design, build, and optimise scalable data platforms on AWS. You will play a key role in developing reliable data pipelines, improving data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, including Glue, Redshift, and related services.
• Solid experience with Amazon Redshift, including schema design, query optimisation, and data modeling for analytics.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience developing, testing, and debugging production‑ready code.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices and Git Hub Actions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• English — Upper-Intermediate or higher.

Nice‑to‑have skills:

• Experience with Apache Iceberg.
• Experience with Micro Strategy.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, Cloud Watch, DMS, App Flow, and Cloud Trail.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data products and pipelines on AWS.
• Build and optimise data models supporting reporting tools and analytics platforms.
• Take ownership of data pipeline development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and engineering teams on technical design and architecture decisions.
• Develop automated data quality checks and monitoring solutions.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long‑term improvements.
• Work closely with the platform team on security, performance optimisation, and infrastructure improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and continuously improve engineering practices.
• Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders while managing multiple priorities in an Agile environment.
