Principal GoLang Engineer

We are looking for an exceptionally experienced Principal Go Engineer to join the team developing a complex distributed data and analytics platform.

This role is intended for a hands‑on engineer who has designed, built and operated large-scale production systems. You will take technical ownership of critical platform components, define architecture, identify risks and lead solutions from initial design to production deployment.

The platform processes high volumes of network and telemetry data across Kubernetes-based, cloud and on‑premises environments.

• Designing and developing scalable, fault‑tolerant backend services in Go
• Building high‑throughput data ingestion and event‑processing pipelines
• Designing event‑driven architectures based on Apache Kafka
• Defining service boundaries, data flows and communication patterns
• Making architectural decisions concerning scalability, consistency, availability and failure recovery
• Diagnosing performance, concurrency and production reliability issues
• Improving engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability and security
• Leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring experienced engineers
• Cooperating with architects, Dev Ops engineers, product teams and domain experts

• At least
  10 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least5 years of substantial commercial experience with Go
• Experience working as a
  Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead or Solution Architect
• Proven technical ownership of complex production systems
• Strong experience designing and operating distributed, highly available systems
• Experience with platforms processing high volumes of events, traffic or data
• Deep knowledge of Go, including concurrency, memory management, profiling, testing and performance optimisation
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including:
  • partitioning and replication
  • eventual consistency
  • idempotency and delivery guarantees
  • retries and failure handling
  • high availability and graceful degradation
• Extensive experience with Apache Kafka or a comparable event‑streaming platform
• Strong experience with microservices and RESTful API design
• Advanced SQL skills and commercial experience with PostgreSQL
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience diagnosing complex incidents in distributed environments
• Good understanding of observability, application security and reliable software delivery
• Ability to make and clearly communicate architectural decisions
• Very good command of English

• Practical experience using AI coding tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging, or code review
• Experience introducing AI‑assisted workflows without compromising security, quality, or engineering judgment
• Background in networking, telecommunications, observability, or high‑volume data platforms
