Senior Java Software Engineer

About The Role In this role, you will join a team developing and enhancing solutions supporting the patent grant process, a core business capability. The role is primarily focused on delivering new functionality while contributing to application maintenance and incident resolution to ensure the stability and reliability of business-critical systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting the patent grant process
• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software using Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security)
• Collaborate closely with the QA Engineer and other developers to deliver business value
• Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into reliable technical solutions
• Work with SQL databases and contribute to cloud-native application development in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Contribute to CI/CD processes using Git Hub and ArgoCD, and participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support production applications by investigating incidents and leveraging monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki, and Pager Duty to ensure system stability
• Participate in a paid 24/7 support rotation to ensure timely incident response and service continuity (will be paid additionally)

• Strong commercial experience with Java and enterprise application development
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications using object-oriented programming principles and clean coding practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and ownership of technical solutions
• Familiarity with Spring Framework, SQL, and modern software development practices will be an advantage
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub, ArgoCD), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki, Pager Duty) is a plus
