Job Title
Instructor, Electronics Engineering Technology – Adjunct (Re-advertised)
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe faculty member will prepare and teach electronics engineering technology courses for career technical programs, addressing a wide variety of topics in lecture and laboratory settings. May be required to teach during day, evening, and/or weekend hours.
Key Duties and Functions- Develop learner‑centered lesson plans.
- Employ teaching strategies and instructional materials suited to diverse learning styles.
- Incorporate current technology in classroom, distance learning, and laboratory environments.
- Create and model a quality learning environment supporting a diverse student population.
- Prepare, distribute, and utilize instructional support materials (syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and devices).
- Conduct assessments of student learning outcomes in courses and programs.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain currency in the field and maintain required credentials or licenses.
- Engage in opportunities to advance teaching skills and strategies.
- Maintain classroom and laboratory spaces, including upkeep of assigned equipment.
- Ensure security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials and maintain safe working conditions.
- Maintain student records (grades, attendance) in accordance with deadlines using technology‑based programs.
- Comply with all applicable college, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Address student concerns in a timely manner.
- Promote retention/persistence by assisting students to develop strategies for success.
- Refer students to campus and community resources when appropriate.
- Demonstrate and model the College’s employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem‑solving, responsibility, and teamwork.
- Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Long periods of standing and/or walking.
- Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to hear, see, and stand extensive periods of time (up to 6 hours).
Skills and Abilities
(KSA) Required
- Multitasking.

- Effective communication.
- Ability to implement and apply technology solutions.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- IEEE membership.
- At least three years of recent documented experience in the electronics industry.
- Teaching and/or industry training experience.
- Recent experience with LabVIEW/MultiSIM.
- More than three years of recent documentation in the electronics industry.
- Post‑secondary teaching experience in Electronics Engineering Technology.
- Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
- Mandatory GTCC trainings upon initial hire and annual updates as required (Reporting Requirements, Discrimination & Anti‑Harassment, Shooter on Campus, Personal Information Protection, Ethics and Social Responsibility, eLearning Level One and Two in Canvas).
