- Develop learner‑centered lesson plans
- Employ teaching strategies & instructional materials for different learning styles
- Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom, distance learning, clinical, and laboratory environments
- Create and model a quality learning environment that supports a diverse student population
- Prepare, distribute, and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate
- Update and revise curriculum to maintain currency with state and professional guidelines
- Develop new courses as needed to support the instructional mission
- Participate in the development and review of course and program/general education outcomes as appropriate
- Develop, conduct, and document appropriate assessment of student learning in outcomes courses and programs/general education as appropriate
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain currency in the field; maintain current credentials or licenses as required by program or the accrediting body
- Participate in professional development opportunities to advance teaching skills and strategies
- Maintain classroom and laboratory spaces, including upkeep of assigned equipment
- Provide for the security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials, and maintain safe working conditions
- Maintain student records (e.g., grades and attendance) in accordance with established deadlines using a variety of technology‑based programs (e.g., Trajecsys, Navigate, Canvas, Self Service, Colleague, Web Advisor, Moodle)
- Comply with all applicable college, state, and federal rules and regulations
- Support students in clinical settings
- Serve as a liaison between GTCC and the clinical settings
- Conduct recruiting activities
- Address student concerns in a supportive and timely manner
- Provide academic advising
- Promote retention/persistence by assisting students to develop strategies for success
- Assist students with the registration and graduation process
- Refer students to campus and community resources when appropriate
- Maintain current and accurate student clinical and academic records
- Collaborate with faculty and staff from other divisions/departments to promote communication, coordinate schedules, and support student success
- Serve on department, division, and college committees
- Participate in GTCC institutional initiatives
- Collaborate with educational partners, business/industry, and/or external agencies as appropriate to promote the instructional mission of GTCC
- Support collegiality and teaching excellence by actively participating in the professional development of new and veteran faculty (e.g., mentoring and peer observation)
- Participate in extracurricular student activities/clubs
- Attend college professional development sessions, college/division/department meetings, graduation, and convocation, as required
- Demonstrate and model the College’s employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility, and teamwork
- Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor
- Associate’s degree in Medical Sonography from an institutionally accredited college/university recognized by the Department of Education, with the ability to attain a Bachelor’s degree within 2 years of employment
