Quality Control Technician

Martin Marietta is seeking a QC Technician to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. The QC Technician will safely and efficiently sample and perform routine laboratory testing of aggregate material under the supervision of the Site Manager or other designated personnel. The role requires travel from the quarry to other locations.

Job Location s:
Jamestown Quarry, Jamestown, North Carolina;
Reidsville Quarry, Reidsville, North Carolina.

Hours:

7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, weekends as necessary.

• Use prescribed standards to determine chemical and/or physical characteristics for quality control and to assess conformity to specifications.
• Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as agitators, scales, ovens, and other lab equipment.
• Obtain material samples from production facilities such as conveyors, stockpiles, rail cars, and/or customer sites.
• Report and communicate test results internally and externally (DOT and other customers as required).
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Inspect stockpiles for proper construction and haul units for cleanliness.
• Maintain test data files and record results in AggQC and/or standardized forms.
• Investigate and resolve customer technical problems under the guidance of designated personnel as needed.
• Aid in the training of co‑workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Have at least two (2) years of experience in quality control in an aggregate or construction environment (preferred).
• Possess a Technical degree (preferred).
• Are State certified for aggregate field and laboratory testing (preferred).
