Admissions Counselor – University of Jamestown
Location: Jamestown, ND
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month staff position
Final date to receive applications: Open until filled
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment: Actively recruit prospective students through high school visits, college fairs, virtual events, and campus tours.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and community organizations to promote the University of Jamestown.
- Outreach and Communication: Respond to inquiries via phone, email, paper mailing, and social media, providing accurate information about academic programs, financial aid, and campus life. This includes taking point on the design and oversight of focused communication pieces for high school sophomores and juniors.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing on-campus and virtual recruitment events, such as open houses, admitted student days, and information sessions.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and application statuses.
- Social Media Oversight: Oversee admissions-based social media in coordination with the department’s graduate assistant.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the admissions team, financial aid office, and academic departments to ensure a seamless enrollment process.
- Travel: 10% or less to fill in for other Counselor’s as the need arises.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: Application and financial aid knowledge is preferred; recent graduates with relevant internship or student leadership experience encouraged.
Skills- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
