Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support daily landfill operations at an industrial and E&P waste facility. This role involves managing incoming waste, maintaining landfill roads and working areas, processing sludge and liquid waste, and performing routine equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Operate dozers, loaders, graders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
- Manage, spread, and place incoming waste throughout the landfill.
- Process sludge and liquid waste by mixing with fly ash for landfill disposal.
- Maintain landfill roads, grades, and working surfaces.
- Assist with scale house duties, truck check-in/out, and ticket processing as needed.
- Conduct equipment inspections and perform basic preventive maintenance.
- Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs.
- Monitor site conditions for safety and compliance.
- Support landfill operations handling approximately 60 truckloads per shift.
- Follow daily assignments provided by the Operations Manager.

- GED or HS diploma
- 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment.
- Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work independently
- Landfill, waste management, construction, mining, or oilfield experience.
- Scale house or truck ticketing experience.
- Ability to read grades and slopes.
- Experience with industrial waste, drill cuttings, sludge, or E&P waste operations.
