RDO Equipment Co. – Full‑time, North Dakota.
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis plays a critical leadership role in shaping how the organization understands its performance, plans for the future, and makes data‑driven decisions. This role translates complex financial data into insights that influence strategy, guide decision making, and improve business outcomes across the organization.
Responsibilities- Lead financial performance analysis across the organization, providing insight into trends, risks, and opportunities related to revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
- Translate data into strategy, delivering actionable analysis that supports pricing decisions, cost management, inventory planning, and investment prioritization.
- Partner cross‑functionally with leaders in operations, sales, and other teams to ensure financial plans align with business objectives and real‑world execution.
- Guide budgeting and forecasting efforts, lead and administer bi‑annual business reviews, evaluate current and projected operating costs, and model future scenarios.
- Develop and deliver executive‑level reporting, clearly communicating financial results, key drivers, and forward‑looking insights to senior leadership.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing FP&A team, fostering strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Leaders across the business rely on the director as a trusted advisor, not just a financial expert.
- Financial insights are timely, clear, and directly linked to business decisions.
- The FP&A function is viewed as strategic, proactive, and solution‑oriented.
- Complex financial information is consistently translated into simple, compelling stories that drive action.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- 10+ years of experience leading financial planning, analysis, and performance management within a complex organization.
- Strong strategic thinking with a grounding in data and detail.
- Confidence in influencing senior leaders and guiding cross‑functional conversations.
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing talent and improving processes.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.
