Position: Senior CNA - Full Time Days

Job Summary

Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as an experienced caregiver to residents in a long‑term care setting. The NA provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The role includes assisting with basic health care, documentation, housekeeping, and supporting clinical staff as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Administer daily living activities including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range‑of‑motion exercises using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Prepare and deliver meals, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Collect non‑invasive specimens and record vital signs for documentation.
  • Maintain resident privacy and safety, and follow infection prevention and control policies.
  • Support wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
  • Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, and dietary information.
  • Participate in departmental committees and restorative nursing programs as required.
Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long‑term care preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; not required.
  • Medical clearance and ability to perform essential driving functions if assigned as a Sanford Category II Driver.
  • Completion of state board of nursing requirements and annual competency testing.
  • Minimum of 12 hours of continuing education credits annually.
  • Completion of Restorative Nursing training within 6 months if required.
  • For applicable states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be required.
