Overview

Industry: Aerospace/Defense

Position: Conformity Inspector (8130-9)

Location: North Dakota

Duration: On-going

Frequency: 8 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform conformity inspections on aerospace parts, assemblies, tools, and processes to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Verify material certifications, process certifications, and traceability documentation.
  • Review and validate manufacturing planning, work instructions, and inspection records.
  • Inspect electrical, mechanical, and structural assemblies for compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming conditions and support corrective action activities.
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing and quality processes to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve inspection documentation, test reports, and quality records.
  • Participate in audits and assessments of suppliers and internal manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer representatives to resolve technical and quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, customer‑specific requirements, and company procedures.
  • Support source inspections, product verification activities, and special process validations as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed inspection reports and status updates.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years of aerospace inspection, manufacturing, or quality assurance experience.
  • Background and experience with 8130‑9 Inspection and buy‑off (CofC).
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Ability to review manufacturing records, certifications, and quality documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality management software systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
