What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Maintain and prepare research plots, including planting, maintaining, spraying, and harvesting
  • Conduct crop scouting to evaluate and consult on weed control, insect infestations, and disease outbreaks
  • Train and guide summer interns to achieve operational goals through effective workflows and task lists
  • Assist in planning and organizing research activities, including site sourcing and operational plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in collaboration with the safety team
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly desired; experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
  • Up to 2 years of small plot or Ag retail experience or previous summer intern experience
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL and Pesticide Applicators License within the first 60 days of employment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license acceptable to company policy for operating company vehicles
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Previous experience operating farm or research equipment
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and maintain focus on results
  • Experience in critical thinking and problem-solving within agricultural settings
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons (up to 60 hours from planting through harvest)
