USpireND has an exciting opportunity within the Healthy Families Program as a Coordinator. This position offers room for considerable growth within the organization. As a Coordinator, your role is responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of their Healthy Families ND staff though effective supervision and training, compliace with service and accreditation standards and record retention. The Coordinator will serve as a backup Family Support Specialist when case loads are full as well as completing initial assessments.

This position will be the primary lead in forming and maintaining relationships with community partners and will lead the designated regional HFND Advisory Committee meetings.

Healthy Families ND started in 2000. We provide home visiting in all counties in North Dakota. We understand that every family’s parenting journey is unique. We develop a plan based on each family’s needs to help them thrive.

Requirements

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Child Development or Human Services Field or at least 3 years of experience in working with children and/or families or commensurate HFA experience.

Understanding of or experiencing in supervising diverse staff with humility.

Knowledge of infant and child development along with parent-child attachment principles to include background in early childhood prevention services.

Strong communication skills and open to reflective practices.

Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.

Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, ability to maintain reliable transportation, and proof of insurance for the vehicle

Successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Provide and oversee a dedicated service area within HFND, serving as a point of contacted and representing the organization with external partners as needed in a variety of settings.

Collaborate with peers throughout HFND and the service area to operationalize innovations and shared service activities.

Provide and use reflective supervision with assigned staff, following HFA protocol and guidelines.

Guide staff with strong focus on achieving excellence in execution of their work including supporting staff in stressful work environments, resolving anticipated service issues as they arise and recognizing when to elevate issues as needed.

Embrace the concept of family-centered and strength-based service provision, strengthening parent child relationships.

Support culturally diverse communities and families.

Complete work and documentation within the program timelines.

Attend trainings as appropriate or required.

Fill in for Family Support specialist on as needed basis (including supervision, completing FROGS and home visits – carrying a small caseload when needed)

Knowledge of infant and child development along with parent-child attachment principles

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Proficient in the use of computers; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Networking skills to build relationships with staff and community partners

Always maintain a professional manner with clients and in the community

Commitment to agency values and mission

Ability to motivate and coach

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize duties

Effective and timely entry on data and case notes

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Up to 20% travel and travel typically within a 75-mile radius.

Working most typically in an office or home setting with clients.

Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, navigate stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch; must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Work potentially involves some risk to personal safety of injury, illness or health arising from the environment or the public/clients.
