The Commercial Designer & Drafting Technician supports the construction team by producing accurate building designs and technical drawings for a wide range of commercial projects. This position offers an opportunity to grow drafting and design capabilities within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

• Develop complete and accurate plan sets—including site plans, floor plans, elevations, foundation plans, and detailed construction drawings—using AutoCAD.
• Prepare preliminary design concepts and 3D renderings to support early project development and assist the sales team.
• Produce state‑approved construction plans, coordinating with engineering partners to incorporate structural requirements for foundations, mezzanines, and other building components.
• Apply strong knowledge of commercial building design principles, building codes, and construction methods.
• Collaborate effectively with sales staff, project managers, and engineers to ensure plans align with project objectives and client expectations.

• Minimum 1 year of drafting experience in commercial or residential construction.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using AutoCAD in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with familiarity in 3D modeling or rendering software.
• Strong understanding of commercial building systems, design standards, and applicable codes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods while performing drafting and design tasks.
• Visual acuity sufficient to read construction drawings, interpret detailed plans, and perform precise drafting work.
• Regular collaboration with sales staff in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Ability to work onsite at our Wausau office.
