About the Role

The Senior Process Engineer role is divided into two focus areas:
Operations Performance, and New Process & Capacity.

Responsibilities

• Operations Focus:
• Responsible for managing, providing guidance and direction to Process Engineering resources inside a Business Unit.
• Implementation of actions to eliminate quality, safety or other operational issues.
• Coach process engineers and/or other technical resources into the disciplined DSB Technologies problem-solving approach.
• Own the process and equipment used to produce parts.
• Manage or facilitate projects directed to improve operations performance such as: improve safety, improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), improve product quality, reduce labor utilization, reduce perishable tools consumption, improve process flow and equipment layout, amongst others.
• Works closely with New Product Launch team and manufacturing, providing support to the New Launch Product Engineers.
• New Process & Capacity Focus:
• Responsible for the identification, development and effective implementation of new processes, new technologies and/or new equipment to support current and future needs.
• Monitors and tracks near and long-term capital, facility and capacity requirements, when applicable.
• Supports the development of short term and long-term facility planning projects for the business.
• Manages critical projects through the use of available planning tools, cross-functional team involvement, and effective communication throughout the organization.
• Develop and maintain capacity models for key assets utilizing current year sales forecasts and long-range sales plans.
• Identify strategies to address under capacity situations prior to them limiting our ability to satisfy customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.
• Champions both short term and long-range facility planning projects by identifying ongoing floor space requirements and options as derived from the capacity planning model.

Required Skills

• Technical support, guidance and direction to Process Engineers.
• Promoting continuous improvement and operations problem resolution.
• Cascading down goals and objectives via Policy Deployment to all process engineers.

• Experience with new product launch efforts.
• Ability to manage critical projects effectively.
• Strong communication skills across the organization.
