Job Summary

SHINE is seeking a Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Manager to direct and oversee commercial grade dedication and environmental qualification activities for the Diagnostics division. The CGD manager will lead a team of CGD Engineers and Lab Technicians to qualify equipment in support of the construction and operation of the Chrysalis, and other SHINE-specific projects.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $210,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Hybrid Considered.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the hiring, training, and performance management of Lab Technicians and CGD Engineers.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained and perform work in accordance with SHINE’s quality assurance program.
  • Mentor staff on commercial grade dedication plan development and execution.
  • Identify, schedule, and manage work of CGD Engineers and Lab Technicians in integrated project schedule to CGD mechanical and electrical components.
  • Interface with Procurement Engineering and Construction organizations to coordinate CGD and qualification activities with installation dates.
  • Develop and track lab operations budget to maintain facilities and equipment purchases.
  • Provide approvals for CGD plans and environment qualification packages to qualify commercial items for QL-1 applications.
  • Interface with Engineering department to understand and identify safety functions and critical characteristics of the items being tested.
  • Maintain and update implementing CGD procedures and instructions, as required.
  • Develop Overage, Shortage, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and specifications during dedication activities.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 15 years of experience preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
  • Understanding of ASME NQA-1 and/or ANSI 15.8 requirements.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communications skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in commercial grade dedication work in accordance with EPRI NP 5652.
  • Experience in environmental qualification of equipment (e.g., electrical and mechanical aging, seismic testing in accordance with IEEE 344).
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Requires occasional leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
  • Low to moderate physical activity. May require handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
