Job Title:
Electrical Engineer – RF Fuze and Electronics Systems
This full‑time electrical engineer role supports advanced defense programs by providing electronics systems engineering and RF fuze testing for government‑designed electronic fuze assemblies. The engineer serves as the primary technical representative for electronic fuze systems, working closely with vendors, internal production teams, and U.S. Government partners. The position focuses on establishing and sustaining electronic test capabilities, executing and overseeing qualification and acceptance testing, and supporting the integration of fuze designs into new weapon platforms.
The role also contributes to research and development, safety assessments, and live‑fire and range test activities, helping ensure mission‑critical systems perform reliably in demanding environments.
- Serve as the technical representative for electronic fuze systems, acting as a key interface between vendors, internal engineering, manufacturing, quality, and U.S. Government stakeholders.
- Establish, maintain, and improve electronic and RF test capabilities for government‑designed electronic fuze assemblies.
- Plan, execute, and oversee qualification and acceptance testing for electronic fuze systems and related electronic assemblies.
- Perform board‑level functional and RF testing of electronic assemblies to validate performance and compliance with requirements.
- Interpret and apply schematics, block diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs) to evaluate vendor deliverables and internal designs.
- Troubleshoot electronic hardware issues, analyze test data, and drive corrective actions to resolve performance or reliability problems.
- Support the integration of fuze designs into new weapon platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure proper fit, function, and performance.
- Contribute to research and development activities, including new product initiatives incorporating cutting‑edge technology for training rounds and related systems.
- Participate in safety assessments, live‑fire testing, and range test activities to validate system performance in operationally relevant conditions.
- Work closely with program managers and R&D/new product development teams to drive efforts on current and future programs and to meet evolving customer demands.
- Collaborate regularly with inspectors, manufacturing teams, and supplier quality engineering to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Travel to vendor sites, government facilities, test ranges, and training locations as needed to support testing, integration, and training activities.
- Document test plans, procedures, results, and technical findings using standard office productivity tools and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field such as RF engineering, electromechanical engineering, or electronics.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics engineering, electronics test engineering, or a closely related field.
- Applied experience performing board‑level functional and RF testing of electronic assemblies.
- Ability to interpret schematics, block diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs) and to evaluate vendor deliverables for compliance and quality.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic hardware, analyzing test data, and driving corrective actions.
- Comfort working as a technical interface with vendors, internal engineering and manufacturing teams, and government stakeholders.
- Experience with RF circuits, radio frequency concepts, and hardware design.
- Experience with EMC testing or related electromagnetic compatibility considerations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint for documentation, reporting, and project coordination.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% to vendor sites, government facilities, test ranges, and training locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required for the position.
